From families homegrown in Cherokee County for generations to new couples and single adults just now finding a home in the community, Heritage Baptist is a place where you’ll find open arms. Together, we are a rich tapestry of people coming from different backgrounds, faith traditions and homes. What we share is a living faith in Christ Jesus, and a commitment to growing that faith through worship, discipleship, fellowship, service and witness.
We enjoy fellowship with one another through Sunday School groups, sharing meals together and having fun at church-wide events. Though we are individually unique in our places in life, we lift up each other with prayer and reach out from our own experiences to support one another. Knowing one another and sharing our joys and struggles is important to us; it’s how we become a family of faith.
We are beginning new ministries to offer a place for people to connect: from people who are divorced to mothers of preschoolers, we care about who you are, where you’ve been, and where you’re going. At Heritage, you’ll find folks saving a place for you at the family table.
Our worship is more than a laugh, a cheer or a ritual; it’s a time when we are formed as Christ followers. From the melodious piano tunes of time honored hymns to the powerful anthems sung by the choir, the music on Sundays expresses our praise and commitment to God. There are many beautiful forms of worship in different churches. Knowing that the rich collection of hymns both old and new can carry the meaning of the Christian life across generations, we use the piano, organ and other more traditional instruments to lead us in worship.
We invite you to worship with us. Sing along, join us in communicating God’s love and presence in our lives, and allow tradition to shape your heart in a fresh and meaningful way.
We’d love for you to come and experience Heritage for yourself. Bring your family, your children or your friends. Bring your ideas, your experiences, your hopes and your cares. Because once you do, you understand that Heritage is more than a place; it’s a family of faith.
